THE DESIGN PLAN

The Scotiabank Arena in Toronto is one of the biggest attractions in the city for tourists and locals alike; when the top music
acts in the world are in town, when the Maple Leafs take to the ice, or when the Toronto Raptors win the NBA Championships,
it all happens at the Scotiabank Arena. So, when changes are made to fan seating and dining areas, all eyes are on
those design teams.

Now known as the Air Canada Signature Club, The Chairman’s Suite was designed as the ultimate experience in luxury
dining and entertainment at The Scotiabank Arena. Located underneath a members-only seating area right up against the
ice, this restaurant and bar was described by The National Post as “staggering and sophisticated” when it reopened in 2019
– but behind the scenes, the truth is that reopening was nearly derailed by construction delays. RFP was brought on board by Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) and Toronto design firm DesignAgency late in the game to deliver a product fit for Toronto’s elite players and their fans on a buzzer beater deadline.

SCOPE OF WORK

RFP was responsible for working with DesignAgency and MLSE to complete the following:• Designing, manufacturing, and installing all built-in seating for high-end dining and lounge areas
• Highlighting design spec materials of Italian leather and superior walnut wood
• Multiple reviews with MLSE and DesignAgency and consultations with construction crews
• Round-the-clock work to meet tight deadlinePROCESS

RFP worked closely with DesignAgency and MLSE to meet high standards in challenging conditions, including:
• Briefings with DesignAgency and MLSE to confirm design details, specs, materials and construction timeline
• A fast-tracked manufacturing process including renderings and testing
• Multiple location site visits to track construction and adjust installation plan
• Advanced project management and customer service to complete project in 72 hours

RESULT

• Upholstered built-in seating (including curved banquettes) in high quality Italian leather and walnut
• Met strict deadline of 72 hours through round-the-clock work
• Stakeholders impressed with luxurious levels of design and detail, making The Chairman’s Suite an unparalleled space in Toronto
• Client expectations surpassed, with, against the odds, a successful restaurant opening on schedule
