Dior Riviera – A Bespoke Retail Experience

Client: Dior

Location: Holt Renfrew, Vancouver, BC

Refining Luxury Through Precision Millwork

The Dior Riviera boutique at Holt Renfrew Vancouver required a bespoke retail build-out that brought together sculptural aesthetics, modular functionality, and brand-centric finishes. RFP Design Group, in collaboration with Park Creative Agency, fabricated and installed a high-end environment that reflected Dior’s global identity within a high-traffic retail setting.

Design & Execution

Architectural Millwork & Feature Displays

Custom Light Boxes – Integrated LED illumination, seamless acrylic faces, and CNC-formed curvature for precision.
Risers & Display Fixtures – Multi-tiered platforms in white wood veneer with concealed supports and integrated toe kicks.
Wall-Mounted & Freestanding Units – Built in matte white and light wood finishes (W-01, W-02), designed to frame branded visual elements.

Luxury Furniture & Integrated Functionality

Nested Tables – Constructed with plywood cores, wiggle wood shaping, and Kurz Luxor gold edge-banding for bold branding impact.
AOG Service Bases – Functional furniture with magnetic latch access panels, cable pass-throughs, and concealed grommets.
Floor Platforms & Ramps – Double-layer subfloors with commercial-grade vinyl, routed cable channels, and slope transitions for accessibility.

Detailing & Materials Coordination

Finishes – Matte laminate, light wood, gold edge detailing, and seamless acrylic surfaces selected for elegance and performance.
Engineering – Modular joinery, dado cuts, and 3D-modeled fabrication ensured consistent alignment across curved elements.

Challenges & Solutions

Precision Across Irregular Geometry

Challenge: Complex curvature and height transitions across platforms and fixtures.
Solution: Used CNC fabrication and pre-installation mockups to align curves with architectural layout.

Code Compliance in Retail Build

Challenge: Meeting seismic and accessibility codes for ramps and fixtures in Vancouver.
Solution: Verified slope grades and anchoring methods in collaboration with engineering consultants.

Managing Ongoing Design Revisions

Challenge: Frequent updates during production posed timeline risks.
Solution: Adopted a rolling design approval system and phased fabrication to maintain efficiency.

Final Outcome

The Dior Riviera boutique stands as a testament to luxury retail fabrication, blending immersive branding, premium materials, and technical execution. RFP Design Group delivered a custom millwork and fixture package that elevates Dior’s spatial identity while maintaining performance in a high-volume setting.
