Sometimes great design cannot wait. That was the case for our client, The Laundry Design Works, an exciting figure in the hotel
and hospitality industry. This project was not short on luxurious features, but time wasn’t one of them.

RFP was tasked with solving a hotel lounge’s seating issue – including designing and installing a custom modular unit that
could be reconfigured from room to room – in only 30 days.

SCOPE OF WORK

RFP was responsible for:
• Working with client to understand brief and required uses of space thoroughly
• Designing multipurpose, modular custom seating in collaboration with client
• Sourcing all materials within budget
• Completing construction and installation in 30-day timeline

PROCESS

RFP worked closely with the client to successfully complete a demanding project, including:
• Collaboration between in-house and client design teams to ensure stylistic cohesion and efficient functionality
• Negotiation with suppliers to access the best price possible for materials
• Managing fabrication timelines and budget requirements to develop scalable manufacturing process
• Installation of completed modular seating unit inside hotel lounge

RESULT

  • Custom modular seating solution for hotel lounge, allowing for multiple arrangements according to use and space
  • New RFP model for scalable manufacturing, leading to increased flexibility in budget and schedule
  • Beneficial collaboration between RFP and credible suppliers
  • Successful installation and an impressed client
